Notice Issued for Level III Sex Offender

The Duxbury Police Department has issued notification of a level three sex offender who will be living in town. The Duxbury Police Department has issued notification of a level three sex offender who will be living in town.

David Nickerson, 39, will be living at 501 Elm Street and working in Weymouth.  In 1989, Nickerson was convicted on one count of rape.

In the notification flyer given to citizens and posted in town buildings, Nickerson is described as a white male, 5’10" weighing 200 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.

Under the level three designation, the state’s Sex Offender Registry Board has determined that the individual is at a high risk of reoffending and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that community notification is issued for public safety.

Notification flyers have been posted at the police and fire stations, town hall and other buildings around Duxbury.  The flyers make it clear that this is purely a notice and that this individual is not wanted by the police.
