Another Message Found in DHS Bathroom

Police and school officials are investigating a threat found in a bathroom of Duxbury High School. Police and school officials are investigating a threat found in a bathroom of Duxbury High School.

DHS Assistant Principal Diana Myers-Pachla contacted parents via the ConnectEd, the schools telephone message service, on Tuesday afternoon stating that a student reported finding a threatening message scrawled on the wall of a second floor bathroom at the high school that morning. All parents with students in Duxbury public school system were contacted.

Pachla said the school's crisis team is working in conjunction with the police department to investigate the matter.

"Although these events can be unnerving to all of us, please be assured that the police and the school administration are doing everything possible to keep our schools and students safe," Pachla said.

School Resource Officer/Juvenile Det. Friend Weiler, Jr., and Superintendent Eileen Williams said the ConnectEd message was all the information being released at this time.

Pachla issued a second statement on Tuesday evening informing parents and students that the only entrances open at the high school on Wednesday are the front lobby doors. She added that police officers would also be present in the building to conduct searches.

Back in December, a custodian found the word "bomb" written on the wall of a second floor bathroom at the middle school.

In January 2004, notes threatening death to 18 freshmen at Duxbury High School were found in a bathroom two weeks in a row. In June of 2003, a threat written in deodorant in the girls' bathroom at the high school was discovered. Over at the middle school, police charged an eighth grade girl with threatening to commit a crime after notes were found in the bathroom stating that physical harm would come to eight students at the school.
