In memory of Barbara Geer Kennedy

Of Duxbury; previously of Wilton, CT. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 26. Born April 1, 1924, in New York City. Beloved wife of the late W. Montague Geer III. Beloved mother of Gerald Geer of Fairfield, IA; Pamela Geer Gordon and her husband Howard of Wellesley; and William M. Geer IV and his wife Joanne of Wake Forest, NC. Devoted grandmother of Monty, Jillian, Allyson, and Nolan Geer and of Maggie and Johnny Gordon. Beloved wife of the late James C. Kennedy of Marco Island, FL. Loving stepmother to Peggy Kennedy, Kitty Kennedy, and Betty Ellis, and loving stepgrandmother to their nine children.

She was a devoted and active member of Holy Family Parish in Duxbury, including its daily prayer group, and previously of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Duxbury, including its altar guild. She was a lifelong artist, gardener, and bird lover; a volunteer for Meals on Wheels; a member of Duxbury’s Garden Club and Bookworms Book Club; and a regular participant in computer and language courses at the Duxbury Senior Center. For all who knew her, she was a very loving, kind, witty, generous, vital person.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury. Flowers may be sent to Barbara’s home at 26 Trout Farm Lane, Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Barbara’s name to Child Fund International (www.childfund.org).
