Keith Donnelly of Chelsea, formerly of Everett, died in his sleep of ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease on April 10. Mr. Donnelly was a graduate of Pope John High School. He was an excellent athlete who played hockey at Michigan State University and drew the attention of the Montreal Expos as a pitcher. After a year of college, he turned to modeling and acting and was seen in several movies and TV series to include: “The Profiler,” “The Crucible” and “Flintstones,” the movie. Mr. Donnelly was also a published poet whose poetry was printed in a book called “Down Peaceful Paths.” The following is a small piece that he wrote, “May your lives be filled with happiness, always knowing That it takes a bit of Rain to make the Roses Grow Bright….And Bright your days will be…Alas! Rain or Shine---God Bless you All. Love , Keith D 6/21/91.” Mr. Donnelly was the son of late Larry and Helen Donnelly of Everett. He leaves his brothers, Dennis and his wife, Joy, of Sonoma, Calif., Brian and his wife, Eileen of Duxbury, the late Larry Donnelly, Kevin of Las Vegas, Neb., Danny of Thousand Oaks, Calif. And Joe of Boston; his sisters, Noreen Cavanaugh of Salem, and Irene Levin and her husband Steve of St. John, USVI; his beloved and dearest friend, Janet Donald; his closest friend, Dave Roccia; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Mr. Donnelly’s life on April 18 at 5:10 p.m. at Antonia’s Restaurant, 492 Revere Beach Blvd, Revere, immediately followed by the sprinkling of ashes. Celebrants will reconvene at Antonia’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care/ALS, Hospice of North Shore and Greater Boston, or ALS/Massachusetts Chapter.
