George Campbell Brown, Jr., age 74 of Duxbury, formerly of Norwood, Plymouth and Pembroke, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Boston. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late George Campbell, Sr. and Eleanor (MacEnroe) Brown.  Mr. Brown was a member of the United States Marine Corps. and served in the 1950’s.  There is truth to the phrase, “Once a Marine, always a Marine,” because this was the essence of Mr. Brown.  He was remembered and highly respected by his peers within the Southern Massachusetts Automobile Industry from the 1960’s to the present.

He was the husband of Susan C. (Hoadley) Brown.   He leaves his sons, George Scott Brown of California and Jeffrey Charles Brown of Hanover; his daughters, Wendy Evans and Tracey Cheves both of Rhode Island; his brother, James T. Brown and his wife Sheila of Vermont; his sister, Marilyn Crawford and her late husband Bill of New Jersey; his former wife, Beverly Duke of Rhode Island; two stepsons, Michael J. Kent of New Hampshire and Christopher R. Kent of Kingston; and ten grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., (Route 106), Kingston, on Monday, April 16 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or www.cancer.org.
