Brian Charles Linehan of Duxbury died March 20 surrounded by his family. Mr. Linehan was Counsel to the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue/Child Support Enforcement – Plymouth County. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and Counselor and Attorney of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Linehan graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1969, Georgetown University Business School (class of 1973) and Suffolk University Law School (Juris Doctorate, 1977). He was a lineman for the Georgetown University Football Team, member of the Georgetown University Club Rugby Team and an active Georgetown Hoya Alumni. He was a volunteer coach for many years for Duxbury Youth Hockey, Duxbury Girls Hockey and Duxbury Girls Softball. He was a member of the Tabor Academy Day Student Parents Committee and University of Vermont Parents Association. Mr. Linehan leaves his wife of 38 years, Janice Murphy Linehan; his daughters, Cara Linehan Esch and her husband Thomas Esch of Scituate, and Meaghan Linehan Grimes and her husband William Grimes of Durham, Maine; his parents, Ann Kelly Linehan and the late Daniel Linehan of Roslindale; his siblings, Gerard Linehan and his wife Karen of West Roxbury, Kathleen Linehan-Henderson and her husband John of Milton, Dr. Lisa Linehan of Roslindale and Mark Linehan of Roslindale; his mother-in-law, Marguerite (Peggy) Murphy of Duxbury; and many nephews and nieces. A funeral was held on Saturday, March 24. Mr. Linehan is buried in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
