Duxbury selectmen have agreed to support a $200,000 increase for the Duxbury beach lease, saying the money will be classified as a one-time expense this year to cover storm damage from the February blizzard and will come from the town’s free cash account. The lease agreement is a warrant article and residents can vote on it at the March 9 town meeting.

Duxbury Beekeeping Part 3 of 3.
The summer of 2012 buzzed along for the two Duxbury beekeepers followed in this three-part series. During the warm months, bees go about their business of gathering nectar and filling frames in the hives with golden honey and are left to their toil except for occasional check ups to make sure the colonies are healthy.

For 45 years, Anne Bowes has been showing her Pembroke Welsh Corgis at dog shows across the nation and around the world. Last Monday, she was invited to judge at the 137th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, one of the premier dog shows in the nation.

Residents spread out in many rooms of the Duxbury Senior Center on Sunday to warm up and charge their electronic devices.
Senior Center staff worked extended hours over the weekend, after a major snowstorm pummelled the South Shore, causing widespread power outages that were still being felt on Tuesday afternoon.
