Monday, August 31, 2009 12:00 AM

Tryouts for the Kingfish swim team will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. at the Kingsbury Club in Kingston. The tryout is for children ages 7-18 for the short course season, which is tentatively scheduled to begin Sept. 8-9. Children need to know all four basic strokes (freestyle, backstroke, sidestroke and breaststroke) and be able to swim a lap of the pool (25 yards). You do not need to be a member of the Kingsbury Club to try out for or participate on this team. For more information, go to kingfishswimming.com or call Coach Jay Craft at 781-871-7287.
