By Administrator
Tuesday, September 08, 2009 02:10 PM

The Duxbury Rural and Historical Society is seeking volunteers for another archaeological dig.  Unlike the Second Meetinghouse Dig of last year, this undertaking will not be a full blown excavation.  The “mini-dig” will take place at the King Caesar House.  This time, no building foundation is being sought.  The object is to sink a number of small “test-pits” in an effort to locate any shards of material that might shed light on what sort of materials the Weston Family had in the house.

Field hockey optimistic after heartbreaking ending to 2008 season
Monday, August 31, 2009 12:00 AM

Lost in the shuffle of last year’s three state titles won by DHS was the valiant effort put in by the Lady Dragon field hockey team in the opening round of last fall’s MIAA playoffs. In one of the most hard-fought and entertaining games of the year, Duxbury lost a double-OT game to Sandwich, 2-1, and had its season end at 10-5-4. While the loss was hard for the players to accept at the time, it has become a rallying cry for Coach Pam Manley’s squad and a memory they have no intention of repeating.
